Phase 1 of this full century home remodel was the previously unusable basement space. We removed everything in the space, relocated all of the utilities to a new room and created a full basement bar, living area and guest bedroom. The space feels updated and modern but cozy and inviting. By removing a small window, we created an open and spacious bar with two different beverage fridges, a prep sink and tons of cabinetry. The small living room is cozy and functional with a sleeper sofa and some cool ottomans. In the guest room we created a built in reading nook and chose a murphy bed to allow for additional guests.
